Short answer- no.
I began having serious doubts about the bible itself. That's what led to the questioning of my JW beliefs, and eventually my exit out of the religion.
back in 1992 when i was slowly extricating my way out of the wacthtower, there was no internet, smart phones or any other type of quick data download available.
i had basically 3 choices to obtain viewpoints from ex-jw's.. #1 - go to go to the library and look for books critical of the society.
#2 - go to a christian book store to look for the same.. #3 - order item like these from addresses or phone numbers listed in the back of these publications.. and while doing any of these things, you were always looking over your shoulder to see if any "brothers" were around.. the problem i experienced is that virtually all of these books, while giving you good reason to doubt the watchtower, always pointed to "christendom" as the way you needed to go.

giggles *somebody* owes me a congratulations.....
I don't believe that game was a reflection on the Packers, as much as the 49ers really are a threat this year.
I'll give you that. The Niners are my preseason SB pick, along with the Ravens. It wasn't a horrible loss. Still, it was pretty discouraging to see that the Packers defense hasn't improved at all since last year.
Packers should breeze through Chicago next week.
I don't know about breeze. The Bears will be tough this year, especially with the addition of Brandon Marshall. How far they go will depend on whether or not they can keep Jay Cutler upright. They were 6-3 last year before he went down.

Can we treat this thread as the official NFL thread for the year?
It depends on whether or not the Packers can bounce back against the Bears. If not we'll have to make sure this thread stay buried
transfusing blood is eating blood?.
today i added a new article to my blog.
it is the first in a planned series addressing the idiocy of watchtowers teaching that transfusing blood is eating blood.
This is the same line of reasoning the WT once used to outlaw organ transplants.

My favorite kingdom melody was the one that made reference to bees being molested.
i have been repeatedly pleaded with to read the books of ray franz in my short stay on this board.
apparently these are all the all-powerful, wt crushing arguments, that lead so many to leave jw's and become ruthless opposers of god's people.
we can discuss any claims/statements/scriptural arguments presented in either of his books, as long as it somehow proves jehovah's witnesses are not god's people.

Oh yeah, please, no flip flopping.
Am I the only one who sees the irony?
http://www.inc.com/minda-zetlin/listening-to-complainers-is-bad-for-your-brain.html .
What constitutes complaining? Coming on here and pointing out all the character flaws and physical deficiencies of every random woman you encounter? I couldn't agree more.
let's assume, as most of you probably believe, that the anointed christians are not the fds.
if the anointed are not the fds, who are?.
Nope sorry, I don't go to strange links. Could be porn there.
If only
one of my strangest memories of going to the kh was when a young- maybe 18-20, pimply young man got up to talk about jhvhs view of masturbation during a service meeting.. of course, it was impossible to think about him not masturbating.
i was just hitting puberty and found the whole thing very uncomfortable- i think my dad was even critiquing him (what is that called when elder gives the feedback).
looking back now i can see that to publicly condemn masturbation, especially when a young man is delivering this admonition, is- well- hilarious.
Too bad it wasn't a talk in the Theocratic Ministry School when he was working on gestures for his point of counsel.

That's kind of like Madonna singing Like a Virgin.
